Update 1.1a - Game Concept Released


After 3 weeks of Game Jam (Game Seed 2024) fighting against time with lots of bugs and technical art stuff, WE FINALLY MADE IT!

This is the first time in our life (no exceptional, not even a single team member in 3) that we have made a video game using Godot 3D Engine. Our biggest achievement is that we finally did it from zero to hero with almost no bugs at all.


Introducing "Nitro Nutty Nutz"

A Casual Local Multiplayer Arcade Game where you play as a nut-eater animal, Roomba against other animals to snatch all those seeds spreading on the ground as much as nuts as you can and become NUTZ. Collect nuts and bring them to your home before breezing snowy November begin.

Who are we? (Developers)

We are Team Krisis Ujian, an abbreviation of Krisis Uang-Jiwa Bertigaan (Money-Mental Crisis Threefold).

  • Jonas (Joen) - Project Lead, Programmer, SFX Producer
  • Satriyo (IPO) - Programmer, Level Designer, UI/UX Designer
  • Alvin (Mascapibara) - 3D Artists, Animator, VFX Artists

What we have done? (Features)

  • Main Menu
    • Settings Menu to Handle Audio Settings.
    • Choose your Character and Color before entering the game.
  • Tutorial Scene
  • Versus Mode Game
    • 2 - 4 Player Available
    • Collect seeds and put them into your home as much as you can before other player does.
    • Leaderboard
  • Extra Mechanics
    • Bouncy and Hurtful Obstacles
    • Power-Ups
      • Nitro Battery, use it like a slingshot.

What we have learned? (Experiences)

  • Game Objects in Godot 3D, Patterns and Architecture to adapt with Game Engine.
  • Physics Engine using Godot Jolt instead of Godot's Physics Engine.
  • If Unity has a Cinemachine, Godot has a Phantom Camera, Additionally, Shake Camera uses the "Shaker" Plugin.
  • Mesh and Collisions + Layers and Target.
  • Due to missing managers, we made our own Custom Audio Manager, Scene Manager like Unity, and Game Mode like Unreal.
  • Assets Importer, ufbx and gltf.
  • Android Build Template, the setup is quite complicated than we thought.
  • Raycasting using Object... What!?
  • Shader Programming in Godot instead of using Visual Shader Graph, making few visual effects in the game, looks familiar with Unity.
  • A Complicated Class Naming User Interface. (A Personal Opinion from Unity Developer, Lucky to learn Unreal before Godot)
  • We Love "AnimationPlayer" so much!
