Get Jammed Submitted to BGDJam2025

Our game has finally been submitted but some missing story gameplay pieces haven’t been implemented. We wish to have more time for this.
Anyway,
WELCOME TO “GET JAMMED!” (Temporary Title)
The game is about a young worker who just got accepted by a Jam Company. Her task is to clean up the whole factory. However, a mysterious thing occurred inside the factory. and What’s that? We’ll continue the story later in the future.
This is my POV in development,
I just started RPG Maker MV when the Game Jam started, and I’m interested in how the code works, even though I hate Javascript. Like, what the hell with 1 + 2 equals 12? AAAAAAAAA…….
So anyway, what I learned in this Game Engine, is mostly deconstructing how the game engine works. I see that RPG Maker uses PIXI js, an API used to make canvas and graphics which is well known for making 2D games and simulation. All tools for based RPG games are completely included in this Game Engine so you don’t need to make Asset and Try Hard in logic and codes. This engine specialises in presenting your Story into a game. If you are a beginner in implementing your Story into a Game, RPG Maker is a “Golden Buzzer” as the best nominated narrative game development tool.
Also, I made the Plugin called “JT’s Cleaning Service”, if you saw the gameplay mechanic part of wiping jams, yesh I made that and it’s enjoyable technically.
If I want to compare it with well known Game Engines like Godot, Unity, and Unreal, RPG Maker is “Sucks” (Sorry I have to say it), why?
- Unable to Customize User Interface, Plugin or Code is Required.
- Collaboration always conflicted, I have to wait for one person to finish the work so I can continue the development, unless I only work on Code, just the Code, not the Level Design.
- EXPENSIVE! You buy RPG Maker, then You buy Plugin. (Unless you code the plugins by yourself)
- Manual Asset Optimization, the built-in stripping assets can lead to missing asset in deployment, especially in User Interfaces. I also need to delete some unused assets like tiles, SE, BGM, and everything else.
In conclusion, RPG Maker is the best Game Engine for Non-Technical Developer who wants to make games. I wish to enhance this engine by developing a tool for better UI implementation. That will be another time in the future.
Thank You for Reading. Cheers!
